About

Bari Hadjikyriacou has always been passionate about music. After getting his first guitar at the age of 13, he started playing in different bands in Cyprus where he is originally from. Shortly after, he got his first drum kit and continued playing in various bands on the island.

After listening to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon for the first time on headphones, his whole world changed. Bari became obsessed by the record making process and wanted to make records for a living. He soon discovered that he had to learn how to engineer sound so he moved to London – where else?! – to study Sound Engineering and Music Production.

While studying, he started interning at a live sound company with a high profile clientele both in live music and outdoor broadcasting. Soon after graduating in 2007, he was eventually offered a full time position, which lead to new opportunities to work in the live music and outdoor broadcast industry. At the same time, he started freelancing as a recording and mixing engineer for different independent and major artists.

In 2016 he got the opportunity to master a record for his best friend’s band. The record turned out sounding great, he got hooked by the mastering process and decided to pursue mastering records. He couldn’t believe how a small EQ move or a tiny level change could drastically change a whole mix and elevate it to a whole different level. Bari has been passionate with mastering records ever since and has mastered records from around the world both for independent and major label artists.

“I love working with all kinds of music and making the music sound the best it could possibly sound. I always get excited when I work on new music and I consider it a privilege being a part of the record making process. After all music makes the world go round.”

FAQ

What is mastering?

Mastering is the critical final step before your music gets released to the public.
It is the final step to enhance your mix further and make it translate and sound cohesive in any playback format and medium.

It involves quality checking the final result and making sure it does not include any technical problems or errors like digital clipping, ticks and pops etc.

Finally it is the last technical step in the record making process to embed data and ISRC codes, making DDP files for duplication and deliver your record in different formats ready for release in both physical and digital formats, such as the International Standdard Recording Code and the Disk Description Protocol.

What files do you like to receive?

We would love to get your final mix in the native bit depth and sample rate that you created your DAW session in.
A WAV file is ideal. Please do not submit MP3 files!
Please do not do any sample rate conversion on your final mix and please avoid using dither in your native DAW.
Regarding volume, as long as the file does not have any digital clipping, we are good to go!
It would be ideal to leave us some headroom to play with and we are happy to receive your mix with mix buss processing that sounds good to you.
If you are using a limiter on your mix buss, please send us the limited mix and a version with less or no limiting.
It would be great to have the reference file that the artist is listening to and is used to hearing.
